I just opened my Etsy shop!
The past few weeks have been super crazy! We just bought and moved into our first house this weekend. Between packing, getting our financing together, appliance shopping, and more packing, I’ve been spread just a little thin and waited until after we moved to officially open my Etsy shop.
We closed on our house on Thursday. The plan was that we would be able to get our keys either that afternoon or early Friday morning. Friday I would go and clean the house and the appliances would be delivered and then we would move on Saturday. I had called on Monday and all the appliances were supposed to be set up on Thursday.
We closed on Thursday, as planned, but then the plan fell apart. The title company missed the filing deadline with the county, and Friday was a holiday. We were told that we wouldn’t be able to get the keys until Monday because they thought that the county was closed all day Friday. Then we found out there was still a chance that we would be able to get the keys late Friday afternoon because the county would be open for a half-day. We crossed our fingers, but had to cancel the appliance delivery because we wouldn’t have the keys in time for the delivery. So no fridge until Monday.
In the last 30 minutes the county was open they processed our loan. By the time I got the keys and got to the house it was about 5pm. We started cleaning and I turned on the water in the kitchen sink and nothing came out but sputtering air. After multiple phone calls I found out that our water wasn’t on, the emergency water service didn’t consider me not having water as an emergency, and that if I turned the water on myself I would be fined by the city. So no water until Monday.
Our actual move went GREAT! We had everything boxed up before hand and had a lot of people from church show up to help load up the truck. We had the truck loaded up in less than an hour and a half and unpacked in less than an hour. Things just disappeared. It was awesome!
The weekend was interesting with no fridge and no running water, we were camping in our own home. But we had made the move, and everything had worked out. Now we have water, and a fridge. Being without these conveniences has made me all the more thankful that we have them now.
The only thing that is unpacked right now is the kitchen, so I should probably get working on that, but first I wanted to tell you that I am celebrating finally opening my Etsy store by giving you a coupon code to save you $$$. Use coupon code “GRANDOPEN30” to get 30% off of your order.
So go and order some right now so that I can start baking in my new kitchen!
Right now I only have my soft, cakey, gluten-free sugar cookies listed on Etsy. What other gluten-free cookies would you want? Tell me in the comments!
