Sweet, creamy, nutritious dairy-free overnight oats are super easy to make. Black cherry dairy-free yogurt alternative makes it creamy and sweet with some chia seeds for omega-3's and cacao nibs just because.
To be honest, I often have a hard time eating a good breakfast in the morning. Since I have a newborn right now, and a 2-year-old my morning routine is basically me running around still in my pajamas going back and forth between getting breakfast for my toddler, feeding the baby, making lunch for my hubby to bring to work (that only happens sometimes,) trying to do the dishes, checking my work email, and what feels like a hundred other things that I have to do.
Mom's are busy, it is just how it is. And being as busy as we are it is sometimes hard to take a few minutes to even get yourself breakfast in the morning. Most mornings I don't get breakfast until after 10, when I've been up for hours and my kids are just about ready for lunch. But I can't, or I guess shouldn't, do that. I'm breastfeeding so getting a good breakfast is more important now than ever.
That is why I love these dairy-free overnight oats. After the kids are in bed I can just spend a few minutes to dump all the ingredients in a jar and give it a quick mix. Then in the morning I can grab it from the fridge and sneak spoonfuls in between juggling all my mom-duties. I don't have to think about what I'm going to eat breakfast and how to do it, because my overnight oats are all ready for me to eat!
It takes just a few minutes to mix a few ingredients together before you go to bed and in the morning you can just grab it and go!
Have you seen Silk's NEW Dairy-Free Yogurt Alternative? I was so excited to try it, and it didn't disappoint. It is smooth and creamy, has 6g of soy protein, it is dairy-free, gluten-free, has no artificial colors or flavors, and it is made with real fruit! Not to mention it is delicious.
It comes in lots of flavors! I tried Black Cherry and Pineapple but they also have Strawberry, Blueberry, Vanilla, and Peach & Mango. I used the Black Cherry in my overnight oats but I am dying to try making it with the Blueberry!
There is no better way to start the morning, whether you use Silk Dairy-Free Yogurt Alternative in some overnight oats, or just eat it by the #SpoonfulOfSilk It has been the perfect addition to my morning routine.
